Home School Farm Program

This Program offers a space to learn in a farm environment about sustainable living and have a hands on experience working with food production and animal care. To become part of the program we ask you to sign up as a volunteer and will be given free entry into the farm in return for help in the gardens and animal feeding.

The morning will consist of unstructured and structured activities depending on what is needed on the farm each week. Below is an example;

9am - 10:30am - unstructured  - this includes weeding, watering, planting, animal feeding, picking jobs off the volunteer board.

10:30 - 11am - Morning tea - Great excuse to catch up together and connect with other families.

11am - 12.30 - Project activities - These are larger jobs that require groups such as shovelling out animal sheds and replacing bedding, tidying and clean ups, harvesting or planting larger beds of crops.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

Just turn up from 9am on a Thursday. Bring hat, sunscreen, enclosed shoes, water bottle,

Anyone over 18 will need to sign a volunteers waiver and safety induction, and do a safety walk through on their first visit. This can be supplied on your first visit or we can email it to you.

After this time families are welcome to stay on and make a day of it.

A study space and access to Wifi is available on request.

Group activities are welcome to be organised in conjunction with the farm activities and we are open to anyone that would like to run other activities on the farm in conjunction with what we are doing.
